The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: California's November Ballot Initiatives

Should low property taxes on commercial and industrial properties be raised to fund education and local governments? Should affirmative action be permitted in public employment, public education and public contracting?  Should local governments be allowed to adopt rent control on certain housing units?

These are just a few of the 12 state ballot measures and one county measure that will be on the November 3 ballot.

Susie Raye, Chair of SMCDFA's Legislative Bills Task Force, will  guide us to information about the pros and cons of all thirteen propositions and will answer our questions about the more controversial and/or confusing ballot initiatives.

We will also hear reports from SMCDFA's Task Forces:  2020 Elections; Social Justice; Healthcare (including an update on COVID-19); Legislative Bills, and Fighting Voter Suppression.

When: Wednesday, October 7, at 7:30 pm
