"Understanding Voting Rights/ Voter Suppression in the Wake of Shelby County v Holder"
Where do we stand after the neutering of the Voting Rights Bill of 1965 by the Supreme Court in 2013?
Speaker Alice Smith, Founder and Executive Director of the National Voter Corps, Chair of the Mid-Peninsula Chapter of ACLU, and Co-chair of the Dean Democratic Club of Silicon Valley, will share information about all the current voter suppression tactics being employed, and about the National Voter Corps' mobilization of volunteers to assist voting organizations in all 50 states. Learn what you can do to help.
We'll also continue organizing our SMCDFA task forces for the coming year.
Bring a friend and don't be late: as always, we'll start with dessert!
