Welcome New Supervisor Noelia Corzo!
First Latina on the Board of Supervisors
Last November San Mateo County elected Noelia Corzo as the new Supervisor of District 2, representing San Mateo, Foster City, and Belmont. Noelia will be our special guest speaker on March 1st, 2023. Prior to election to the Board of Supervisors, Noelia served five years on the Board of Trustees of the San Mateo-Foster City School District, the largest school district in SMC, with a budget bigger than the cities of Belmont and Foster City added together. In 2017, Noelia became only the second Trustee of LatinX heritage in a school district where over 35% of the students are LatinX. In 2022, Noelia became the first Latina ever elected to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors where nearly 25% of the residents are LatinX and over half are women. She is also the only woman, and person of color, currently serving on the Board of Supervisors in a County with 62% people of color. The Board manages and distributes a budget of $4.2 billion a year of our taxpayer dollars. Having her voice influence the use of that major budget represents a long overdue step forward for San Mateo County. Noelia Corzo believes it is essential that we elevate the voices of our community members when they need representation the most. Please join us to hear Noelia's priorities and for her to hear your priorities too!
