Join us June 7 to hear from Paul Bocanegra, San Mateo County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDPC) Commissioner. Paul is also a new member of SMCDFA!

The San Mateo County Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Commission advocates for programs and services that prevent youth entry into the juvenile justice system, and that provide tools young people need to thrive and succeed in life. The Commission seeks to promote respect for the human dignity of all young people who do enter the juvenile justice system and seeks to preserve their youth. 

In March, SMCDFA voted for a resolution to ask the District Attorney to stop prosecuting children as adults, and also a resolution to adopt the JJDPC recommendations for improvements in health, hygiene, services, and programming at the Youth Service Center.
