San Mateo County Democracy for America proudly presents:
Peter Drekmeier serves as Policy Director for the Tuolumne River Trust, where he has worked since 2007. He oversees campaigns aimed at protecting and restoring the Tuolumne River and San Francisco Bay-Delta through federal licensing of dams and state water quality proceedings.
Peter holds a political science degree from UC Berkeley. Upon graduation, he returned to his hometown of Palo Alto to work on the international Earth Day 1990 campaign. He later co-founded Bay Area Action (now Acterra).
Peter also is a whitewater rafting guide and a former mayor of Palo Alto.
California and our local Peninsula are facing extreme drought conditions this year. Join us as we hear from Peter Drekmeier on the status in our neighborhood and the state. Drought conditions may mean more water rationing, something that seems to be becoming the "new normal". But continuing drought could also spell disaster for another wildfire in our area. What can each of us do to help save water in our daily life? Can we make a difference? We will also hear updates from our SMCDFA Task Forces: Social Justice, co-chaired by Gail Sredanovic and Diana Reddy; Healthcare, chaired by Elsa Schafer (with monthly COVID-19 updates from Marshall Dinowitz); Elections 2021, chaired by Greg Loew; and Climate Change, co-chaired by Flavia Franco and Greg Loew. ============================================================== |
