April 2016 Monthly Meeting

The High Cost of Low Wages

Raising the minimum wage in local communities has a ripple effect that extends beyond the individual low-wage worker: working families spend more in the local community, children are healthier and better prepared for school, and the cost to public assistance programs drops.

Bradley Cleveland from the San Mateo County Union Community Alliance will describe the work of the union-community coalition, “Raise the Wage — San Mateo County,” and the virtuous cycle of economic activity triggered by rising wages that benefits this generation and the next.

Join Us for a great Meeting!
