Yes, right here in the neighborhoods of the Peninsula! Betty Ann Hagenau, Co-Founder and Execuive Director of Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition (BAATC), will discuss modern-day slavery and explain how to identify human trafficking in the midst of our daily lives, so that we're able to make a difference and save lives.
Also speaking will be Pamela Estes, community advocate and President of the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation, who will give us a preview of Human Trafficking Awareness Day, a day-long event for all of San Mateo County, from 11 am to 5 pm, on Saturday, May 14, at Courthouse Square and the San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City. That day will include a walk through downtown Redwood City, live music, art, resource group and vendor booths, a rally, a panel discussion on human trafficking prevention and rescue. a reception and a new film.
